The Kiwanis Club of Terre Haute, Indiana was chartered on June 10, 1920. The club has been serving the children of the Wabash Valley and the World for over 95 years. Some famous club members include Max Erhmann (Desiderata) and Orville Redenbacher (Popcorn). The club is involved in a number of activities including; Chili day, Peanut Day, Quilt Raffles, Riley Hospital for Children, Union Hospital, Trauma Bears, Scouting, Geography Quiz Bowl, BUG (Bringing Up Grades), Key Club (North and South Vigo High Schools), and Circle K (Indiana State University). Club members are dedicated to the motto, “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time”.
